Bankruptcy: Bankruptcy is a legal proceeding which allows a person who cannot pay his or her bills to get a fresh financial start.  Federal law provides your right to file bankruptcy , and all bankruptcy cases are handled in federal court. 

You may see bankruptcy as a last resort, and something you would really rather not do.  However, due to unexpected circumstances, which were probably beyond your control, it may now  be your best option to avoid the daily harrassing phone calls from creditors, lawsuits, wage garnishment, or home foreclosure. 

By carefully evaluating your present financial and legal position, I can help you determine if bankruptcy is the right option to pursue in order to get a "fresh start."  I will also tell you if bankruptcy is not the right thing to do, and provide you with information about non-bankruptcy options, such as credit counseling and creditor workouts.
